Greetings all! Halloween is drawing near and I’ve put together a list of movies and cartoons that I highly recommend for this spooky season.
(These are in no particular order)
1. Nightmare Before Christmas
This one is probably a must of most of your guys’ list. It’s popularity seems to continue to grow as the years go on (and for a good reason too!). Unique plot, memorable characters and amazing songs.
2. When Good Ghouls Go Bad
This may just be my ultimate favorite Halloween movie. The vibrant colors, the awesome narrative and the quirky characters come together to make a ‘Spooktacular’ film.
3. Scooby Doo Zombie Island
This cartoon terrified me as a child. Though, Scooby Doo isn’t only for Halloween, this one is an especially good or to watch. Unlike the majority of these cartoons the monsters are REAL in Zombie Island!
4. Corpse Bride
Another Tim Burton masterpiece! Again, great characters and songs.
5. The Halloween Tree
This cartoon will take you on the adventure of a life time while teaching you the customs of Halloween around the globe. ‘The Halloween Tree’ has brilliantly artistic dialogue as well as a cozy feel about it.
6. Garfield’s Halloween Adventure
This one may be short but it’s jam packed with tons of Halloween fun.
7. Monster House
Monster House as vibrant, realistic animation which makes the house pretty terrifying. It’s also got humor too which is always nice. (If you’re planning on watching these movies with really little kids this is the only one on the list that May be questionable. It’s pretty freaky!)
Although more on the new side, paranorman is becoming a quick classic!
9. The Haunted Mansion
Fun story: When I was younger, my little sister and I put this movie on. I was terrified of the BUTLER of all things and turned the movie off ‘for her own good’ (although she wasn’t scared in the least). Anyway, The Haunted Mansion is a lot of fun and Eddie Murphy is hilarious.
10. It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown
(Don’t worry, mom. I didn’t forget your favorite)
It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown is an ultimate classic and definitely a must watch.
Thank you for reading!
